People come into your life for a reason. Of that I am certain. Teaching us lessons. Helping us to find our better selves. We live this life to enjoy this earth and it’s experiences. A little over a year ago, Patty danced her way into my life. Bringing to me something I had forgotten. Reminding me that happiness is the key.
I went over to her house to learn about some cleaning products and left there with so much more. Patty is magical. Ask anyone who knows her. Being around her for just a few minutes, your spirit can be lifted to a place that you may have not even realized existed. If you open your mind to what she has to say, you can find yourself practically giddy with happiness.
We sat on her back porch that afternoon and she shared with me the journey she had been on the past couple of years. One of self-love and healing. Learning all of these wonderful things about happiness and how to make some seemingly simple changes that would turn her life around.
I resonated with a lot of what she said. I told her about some not so happy things that were on my mind and she helped me understand how to take those things and turn them a little bit to see how they weren’t so bad. Before I knew it, we had made them look more positive, or at least gave me some words to help put toward them to help me work toward making myself feel better about what was going on.
I left several hours later with my mind open – for the first time in a long while – to intentional happiness. It made everything look brighter, and oh it has been so much fun! This year has taken me to places that I never would have thought possible – both physically and mentally. There has been a lot of changes in my life in the course of 12 months. ALL of them, in one way or another, positive! Even the ones that from an outsider’s perspective may look horrible. These things happened for a reason, and that reason was to take me to a place of happiness and joy. Somewhere that I could enjoy my life again and find myself.
So, here I am. In this place that is ever changing, excited about what is coming next. I don’t know what it is, but it will be amazing! And I have Patty to thank for opening that door.
